Audit Committee Fundamentals

Roles, Responsibilities, and Resources

Meeting # 20469
June 20–21, 2006

Please join KPMG's Audit Committee Institute and the National Association of Corporate Directors at Audit Committee Fundamentals, an educational program for audit committee members and directors—both new and more experienced—who would like to enhance their understanding of audit committee responsibilities and activities. The curriculum will include:

  • The role and responsibilities of the audit committee
  • Audit committee interactions with management, auditors, and regulatory agencies
  • Regulatory filings and financial disclosures
  • An update on current accounting issues
  • Fiduciary responsibilities and minimizing legal exposure
  • Risk management considerations
  • Audit committee agenda-setting

To help ensure a dynamic, interactive discussion, attendance will be strictly limited. Participant questions and comments will be an important element of the conference, and issues will be explored through a combination of presentations and panel-led discussions.

We believe that this is a unique opportunity for new audit committee members to learn about and discuss the issues they will likely face in the exercise of their oversight responsibility. Please join us for this important event.
